Setting the Standard for the Rest of the World

The Norwegian procurement system Millum is being used as a pilot, and essentially as a model, in a large international project to integrate a procurement system with the ERP system SAP. For Millum, this presents a unique opportunity to showcase their technology on an international stage.

Radisson in Scandinavia has been using Millum as its procurement system for many years; 20 in Norway, 5 in Sweden, and 4 in Denmark respectively. Two and a half years ago, the hotel chain took the initiative to conduct a pilot project with Millum.

When Radisson globally decided that their hotels worldwide would adopt the Chinese GPP as their procurement system, Scandinavia wanted to continue using Millum. Radisson's management agreed that Millum would remain the procurement system in the Scandinavian Radisson. This decision was made because Millum is a significant part of the organization's infrastructure and because the Scandinavian hotels in the chain expressed that the system provides them with security and control in their daily operations. This was a significant victory for the Norwegian IT company.

Additionally, Millum has always claimed that they can handle and integrate with all processes used in an organization, such as POS, warehouse, and ERP systems. They are now proving this in the pilot project, which involves integrating Millum with the ERP system SAP at one of the largest Radisson hotels in the Nordics; the Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel in Stockholm.

Once the pilot is completed, the integration between Millum and the ERP system will be rolled out to all chain hotels in Scandinavia. For Radisson purchasers who collectively order over 400 million Norwegian kroner worth of goods through the procurement system each year, this is a significant advantage.

So far, the integration in the project has been seamless, as noted by all parties involved. This technology is likely to set the standard for how GPP, Radisson's procurement system outside Scandinavia, will solve the same integration. Millum is pleased with the project but would, of course, prefer to assist the hotel chain as a procurement system worldwide. Nonetheless, this is a significant step in the right direction for Millum to become the largest procurement system in the Nordics for hotels, restaurants, and staff restaurants.
